What We Do & Why We Do It
Brain-based Horsemanship is a clear & concise pattern of behaviors that is scientifically backed and can be applied in any situation, to any horse, by any human.
Never been around horses before?
Training your first horse?
Worked with many horses before?
Do this for a living?
This form of horsemanship can be taught to & utilized by someone who has never before been around horses. And yet even the most experienced trainers & owners can also benefit from incorporating the basic tenants of Brain-based Horsemanship.
Teaching your horses to self-down regulate is their form of wellness & mental health, and it is equally as important for them as it is for us humans, perhaps even more so as they are prey animals who make every decision based around safety.
Speaking of wellness & mental health - there are on average 22 American Veterans who commit suicide daily and many many more who live with the effects from their time in service - PTSD, anxiety, depression, etc - and are struggling to reassimilate into civilian life.
The Mustangs of Service program is NOT your traditional talk therapy program. It is however a mental health program that teaches & utilizes Brain-based Horsemanship and Equine Assisted Services with our Veterans, in the act of gentling Mustangs.
Through this journey and the undeniable parallels between the two, they both find
understanding, learning & healing.
We have found great success in the joining of our two programs. Both are vitally important pursuits and by pairing them together we have been able to help save and enhance many lives.
